Aluminium window glass repairs
We repair broken or damaged glass in existing aluminium windows throughout Brisbane, restoring function and safety without replacing the whole window. Glass thickness is chosen to suit the window’s size and position, in line with AS 1288:
- 3mm or 4mm clear float for most panels
- 5mm float for low panels within 500mm of the ground
- Safety glass for bathroom windows, usually translucent for privacy
Aluminium sliding door glass repairs
We replace cracked or shattered panels in existing aluminium sliding doors to keep them operating smoothly and securely. We use toughened Grade A safety glass from 4mm to 8mm thick, to suit your door and comply with AS 1288. Double-glazed options can be added for better insulation or soundproofing.
A popular security upgrade is 6.38mm clear laminated glass: two 3mm layers bonded with a tough interlayer that holds fragments in place if broken. Watch the difference between toughened and laminated glass.
Timber window reglazing
We reglaze damaged timber windows while preserving their character, for both timber-bead and putty-glazed windows. Old materials are carefully removed and new glass installed with matching or new timber beads, or linseed-based putty that cures to a weatherproof seal. The exposed timber should be painted afterwards to protect it.
