Semi-frameless shower screens: the cost-effective choice
Semi-frameless shower screens offer an affordable yet stylish option, blending the look of frameless designs with practical framing. There’s no frame around the door and adjacent panel edges; framing is limited to the outer surrounds for support and water containment.
Premium glass
We use 6mm clear A-grade toughened safety glass that meets Australian Standard AS 1288. All edges are polished smooth, and the glass is custom-cut to fit a wide range of configurations, including mitred corners for unusual layouts.
High-quality framing
Our semi-frameless systems use aluminium framing from Pivotech, an Australian supplier. The Evolution series is engineered for looks and comes in multiple colours to match your fixtures. There are two door options:
- Overlap door: ideal for 90-degree enclosed showers to minimise water escaping.
- Inline door: suited to front-only setups where the shower head is positioned away from the door.
These screens suit every possible design, from standard to fully custom arrangements.
Superior silicone
We seal with GE sanitary clear neutral-cure silicone, which resists yellowing. It needs 24 hours to fully cure before the screen is used. For homes with more than one bathroom, I stagger installations so you always have a working shower.

Semi-framelessKangaroo Point Residence
The client replaced the shower screen and painted the tiles. A tricky configuration: the tiles were 10mm out of level on either side and the angle in the middle was 37 degrees. We mitred the glass to a 2mm gap to keep it as clean as possible.

Semi-framelessTeneriffe Residence
Installed in the Woolstore apartments, where two bathrooms had very unusual layouts and needed custom screens. This was the smallest door I've ever done, around 450mm wide.

Two chrome shower screens replaced with black for a more modern look. An inline door with 3mm gaps either side, and a PVC flap under the door to keep the water in.

Two shower screens with no trip hazard under the door while keeping a semi-frameless look: a wheelchair-accessible design using Estelle hinges in the Pivotech system, with a PVC flap that brushes the tiles to keep water in.
